Subsequent Triennials were attended by more and more participants representing newer and newer specializations within Statistics. It was a joint effort at each and every stage that led to the grand success of all these Triennials.
All these Triennials have attained a very special significance ever since the inception. All the editions of the Symposium have been attended by a large number of participants, including some of the most distinguished academics in the subject, from a host of developed and developing countries to exchange and share their knowledge and experiences with peers.

Profesor Samarendra Nath Roy Memorial Lecture, installed by the University of Calcutta in 1966 and arranged by the Department of Statistics, University of Calcutta has, for the most part, coincided with the academic programme of the Triennial since 1991.
Soumitra Kumar Chakravarti Memorial Lecture has also been organized since the Second International Triennial Calcutta Symposium which coincided with the Golden Jubilee of the Association.
R. C. Bose Memorial Session
The untiring efforts and persuasive skill of Prof. P. C. Mahalanobis resulted in a creation of a separate Department of Statistics at Calcutta University in 1941 with himself as the honorary head and with R. C. Bose & S. N. Roy as the principal teachers.
Professor Bose served the Department of Statistics, University of Calcutta in the capacity of head during 1945 - 49 and decided to emigrate to UNC at Chapel Hill in 1949.
After the demise of Professor R. C. Bose, his wife Mrs. Sandhya Lata Bose made a bequest to the Association with a view to perpetuating his memory. Contributions for the same purpose were also received from some admirers, former students and associates of Prof. Bose. From this collection a special fund was created by the Association.
It was decided that a special session of the Triennial Symposium be dedicated to the memory of Late Professor Bose. At the same time the R. C. Bose Memorial Book Prize was also initiated.
S. N. Roy Memorial Lecture
After the departure of Prof. R. C. Bose for the United States in 1949, Prof. S. N. Roy continued as the Head of the Department of Statistics, University of Calcutta till 1950 when he also left for United States.
After the demise of Prof. S. N. Roy, one of the founder members of the Association, in 1964, the Association started raising contributions for perpetuating his memory. After some fund had been collected through the efforts of the Association, the Association decided to approach the University of Calcutta for instituting a lectureship in memory of Prof.S. N. Roy. The University of Calcutta agreed to the proposal of the Association and an endowment entitled "Professor Samarendra Nath Roy Memorial Lectureship" was thus created.
According to the terms of the endowment a course of lectures will have to be delivered once in every three years at the University of Calcutta by a distinguished scholar on a selected topic of theoretical and applied Statistics and allied subjects.
Soumitra Kumar Chakravarti Memorial Lecture
Dr. N. K. Chakravarti, one of the founder members of the Association, wanted to create an endowment lecture in the name of his deceased son Soumitra Kumar Chakravarti. He chose the Association as the custodian for that endowment.
It was decided that out of the proceeds of the endowment corpus, a lecture in Statistics or allied subjects by an eminent scholar, preferably on an application-oriented topic would be arranged once in every three years.
