CSA Activities
The main objectives and purposes of the Association are to promote the study of the science of Statistics; to provide for research and instruction for the advancement of the study and dissemination of knowledge of statistics; to establish, promote, provide for, maintain and subsidize institutions and societies; for promotion of statistics; to provide for the instruction of students in statistics and all subjects and matters allied thereto, with power to appoint professors, readers, lecturer and other teachers and instructors; to accept, receive, hold, manage and disburse gifts, endowments, donations, grants and testamentary dispositions for the promotion of Statistics; to publish reports, bulletins, books periodicals or other documents and works at the cost of the society; etc
CSA Lecture Series
The Association regularly organizes lectures by eminent scholars from India and abroad.
International Triennial Calcutta Symposium on Probability and Statistics
Since 1991 Calcutta Statistical Association, jointly with the Department of Statistics, University of Calcutta is organizing an International Symposium on Probability and Statistics every three years.
R. C. Bose Memorial Book Prize
An annual book prize awarded to the student securing the highest mark in the Calcutta University M.Sc. (Statistics) Semester I and Semester II Examinations taken together .
Ram Bilas Barui Students' Benefit Fund
Annual cash award for providing financial assistance to PG students of University of Calcutta or UG students of Colleges affiliated to the University of Calcutta, with pressing academic needs. The students are selected on a need cum merit basis.
